Holiday Accidents and Accidents Abroad: Can You Claim Compensation?

Holiday accidents Until recently, personal injury compensation claims for accidents abroad (for example sustained during a business trip) or for accidents while on holidays were difficult. However since new UK Packaged Holidays and European legislation was passed, it has now become a lot easier to do so. Both the Package Travel, Package Holiday and Package Tour Regulations 1992 and the 4th European Union Motor Directive 2003 allow you to submit a claim in the UK for injuries that you have sustained in an accident abroad.

If you have suffered an accident while on an organised package holiday, your claim for compensation can succeed if we can prove that there was negligence on the part of the Tour organisers.

If you have suffered a motoring accident while travelling in Europe due to someone else's fault, we will be able to trace the other party's insurance company and submit a claim on your behalf. Accident Compensation 4 U, through its parent company Forum Law, has developed over the years an extensive network of legal partners all over the world who will be able to take on your case if:

  • You have been in an accident on holiday not organised by a Tour Operator;
  • You have been in a car accident outside of the European Union;
  • You have been the victim of crime abroad.

In order to advise you more fully on the possibility of pursuing a personal injury claim for compensation for an accident abroad, contact us on 0800 037 1260 for a FREE Assessment of your claim and circumstances or start your claim online.

Accidents Abroad: Suing for Negligence

If you were the victim of an accident while on a packaged holiday, you could claim against the tour operator. Tour operators have a duty of care to their customers. Your claim could be brought against your holiday organiser in the UK rather than pursuing a claim abroad. If you have been injured in a car accident abroad, we will be able to trace the other driver of the vehicle involved through international databases and pursue the claim either in the UK or in the country where the accident happened.

If your claim cannot be brought in the UK, it will be possible for us to pursue a claim on your behalf in other countries through our network of foreign partner firms in Spain, Portugal, the United States, Canada, Latin America and Asia (including Australia).
